Saving to iCloud

One way in which you can organize your documents is through iCloud. The latest version of Mac OS automatically saves all of your files to the iCloud, even those in the standard documents folder, to iCloud anyway which you can access from the web.

However, saving to the iCloud folder enables you to see documents automatically across all of your Apple devices. If you save a file you were working on your iPad, if you then want to work on it on your MacBook, it will appear automatically.
