If you have kids then you will know how hard it can be for you to get them to do their homework. You will also know how hard it can be to get them to sit still and focus. Luckily, there are things that you can do to make the whole thing much easier and there are also things that you can do to try and give them the support that they need as well.

Pick a Quiet Spot

It helps to create a nice and quiet space for your child so that they can sit and do their homework. Try and keep any distractions to a minimum and always do everything you can to limit technology during this time. If there are a lot of people coming and going into the dining room where your child is doing their homework then consider setting them up a desk in their room. This will really help them to get the motivation they need to do well and it will make your life much easier as well.

Give Each Child their Own Space

Each child needs to have their own space, and you should really avoid having two kids sitting at the same table. Kids get distracted very easily, and this is especially the case if you are trying to get them to do something. If you are able to give each child their own space then you can limit the amount of distractions that they face and you can also help them to get their homework done in half the time as well.

Reward Them

When your kids do sit down and when they are able to concentrate, you need to reward them for this. Kids don’t really feel rewarded when they get their homework done and this is because it’s a chore to them. If you want them to start feeling way more positive about their homework then one thing that you can do is let them play games after. Bike games are great for this and you can easily give them an hour or two to unwind after. Letting them play games after is way better than trying to get them away from their game beforehand so that they can get their homework

Done.

Give them the Equipment They Need

Your kids aren’t going to be thrilled about doing their homework if they have to spend hours trying to find a pen, some highlighters or some coloured crayons. If you are able to provide them with this beforehand then you can save yourself a ton of time and stress and you can also make the whole thing much easier as well. Of course, it helps to have a homework box, or even a pencil case so that you can keep everything in one place. This box should only come out when homework is going to be done, as this will keep it nice and exciting for your kids and it will also make it so they have something to look forward to when the time does come to get it done.
