To be honest, I had not heard of ‘August’ before getting these Bluetooth stereo speakers but after seeing the high quality build and snug fitted box I wanted to know more. After a little research I was surprised to see that was a UK company set up back in 2005. Since then August has enjoyed a number of accolades and featured on various shows and in national press. Aside from appearing on the Gadget Show, August has also been recommend in magazines such as T3 and What Hi-Fi. Their portable TV recorder was also voted “The Best New Technology” by The Sunday Times back in 2009.
In the box you get the following:
- 2 Soft edged Pyramid speakers with a soft to touch matt finish
- The back has a 3.5mm Audio In connector port and a simple button allowing you to pause, jump back or skip.
- Ample L/R Speaker Connecting Cable
- 3.5mm Audio Cable
- Micro USB Charger cable
Whilst the box art is minimal, the packaging itself is well produced with compartments for each cable and a removable top that houses the speakers.
My first impressions are extremely positive I they came charged and was able to play music quickly and easily.
