O2 have teamed up with the England rugby team and announced their new ‘game’ called ‘Wear the Rose’. This “360-degree virtual reality sports experience” is available for the Oculus Rift that places the wearer within a training session with the English team.

The video shows that players will be asked to jump, tackle and catch with all the team’s stars.  All of this without having to venture out of the front door.

Players will be able to get involved in a team talk from the Captain Chris Robshaw, catch a pass from the fullback Mike Brown and then watch as the hooker Tom Youngs’ tackles the opposition.

“O2 and the revolutionary Oculus Rift technology take you into the heart of the English rugby team,”

It is not entirely certain how ‘interactive’ the Wear the Rose game will be, if at all – the experience was filmed to allow users an uninterrupted 360 degree view of what’s going on around them. 160 hours of filming and 320 hours of development time was then used to match it all up:
